OUR STORY

For the love of the breed

Hey there, my name is Courtnie Blazek, and I am the owner here at Snow Pine Ranch!

My animals and I live on a little 10 acre farm right outside of Hinckley, Minnesota.

I knew when I turned 18 that I wanted to get my own herding dog. I grew up with Shelties, but the dairy farmer next door had a Border Collie that I was infatuated with! I ended up getting my very first Border Collie in 2015 and from there it was pretty much fate.

I immediately knew that this was my breed, and they had my heart. A year later, I wanted another, but the process of finding a rescue or breeder that would accept me was extremely difficult due to me being so young and not yet owning any land with a fenced in area. That was when I really started to consider breeding.

Now I'm here! I'm always looking to help and support people wanting to get into the breed. My program focuses on conserving the origins and striving to better the breeding of the Border Collie.

ABOUT SNOW PINE RANCH

I started my breeding program with my foundation bitch, Reba. She is everything I could have wanted in a female Border. She is extremely smart, confident, handler focused, and has extremely high drive while working. Her temperament is to die for. She loves every person that she meets and would gladly go home with anyone willing to give her pets. She is dog neutral and doesn't mind saying hi to new and strange dogs, though she does prefer to play with other Border Collies. Reba loves all little puppies and believes they could, in fact, be hers if she loves them hard enough. Her structure is nice and balanced with moderate angles. It is only a matter of time before I find my most perfect little girl from her to continue on her legacy in my breeding program. Until then, we will keep trying for perfection. As of right now, we only have the occasional litter of puppies.

ADGA Nigerian Dwarf Goats

We also breed and raise registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We focus on breeding conformationally correct goats for the purposes of milk and family pets. Our kids are ideally raised on their dams; however, we do bottle feed when necessary. Before leaving us, our goats are de wormed, disbudded, tattooed, and given their cdt shots. We are selective on our herd and breeding choices for a well rounded dairy goat for the every day family farm. Our goats are tested yearly for diseases to make sure we are doing everything possible to produce the safest and healthiest kids.
